LWESP had a great membership meeting on March 4. Wow! Thank you to Sheila Nokes and the Bargaining Support Committee for all of their hard work in organizing for the meeting. They will be working hard all weekend and early next week to make sure that everyone is informed and on board with our members' decisions.
Thank you to LWEA, Sammamish UniServ Council, WEA, and surrounding ESP locals for their continuing support. Most of all, thank you to the LWESP members for attending our meeting and standing up for yourselves. Thank you for realizing that RESPECT is the issue here and that we can no longer allow ourselves to be taken for granted. Now, we all need to follow through on our commitments to each other. With your help and support, the LWESP Bargaining Team will go back to the table on March 10 with renewed energy and purpose to insist on a fair contract and a competitive salary.
Achieving a Living Wage will take perseverance and determination. We can do it!

From Stephen Miller:
ReplyDeleteWhy does the LWSD maintain over $14 million in reserve but isn’t willing to pay LWESP members a living wage? Could it be the Administration is comfortable with their pay/benefits? Could it be the school board is comfortable spending tax payer/district $ on an expensive retreat in Leavenworth? Could it be that the LWSD believes LWESP members will simply accept a “thank you” from administration instead of a living wage? LWESP members must make the LWSD uncomfortable with your actions and words so that they finally show you respect through your paycheck!
